Each division is determined by the player's age as of September 1. Players of any weight may play with other players of their same age. Certain players may be permitted to move up, or down a division based only on weight. Most age groups have enough players to split into two or more teams, one of which will play in the National League, and the other(s) in the Continental League.  The National League coach will choose the players for that team, from all the players in each age group.  The remaining players will be split among the Continental teams in a draft.

What is the X Man Rule?

After the official weigh-in, any player who exceeds the official weight limit for each team classification will be required to play as an interior lineman. As well as being designated on the player roster by an "X", he/she would also be required at all times to wear a "X" the front and back of his/her helmet. As an interior lineman, the player is limited to play one of the front five line positions from tackle to tackle on the offensive team.

Who will coach my player?

Ute Conference Football coaches, along with district officers, are unpaid volunteers. Most coaches have family, or other connections to a player on the teams they coach. Most coaches have extensive background in football as players or coaches. Volunteer coaches are always needed. If you are interested in coaching, contact Mike Adams, Murray District President.

When and where will we practice?

Conditioning practice will begin on Saturday, August 5th  and full contact practice begins August 9th. Each player must attend 3 conditioning practices before being allowed to participate in contact practice. Each coach sets the practice schedule for his own team, but generally, practice will be 5 days/week, from 6 – 8 p.m. for the youngest 3 age groups, and from 5:00 - 8:00 for the oldest 3 age groups.  After the start of school, practice will be reduced to 3 weekday evenings each week, for no more than 2 hours for all age groups.
